Staying at the Lodge

The Bundanoon Lodge experience is designed to make you feel right at home. Take the time to explore the building and enjoy the various areas available to you, including the library, guest lounge, verandas, and garden—these spaces are yours to enjoy at any time during your stay.

During the colder months, the Lodge is centrally heated, and a wood-burning fire can be lit in the guest lounge upon request.

Room Key Information

  • Accessing Your Room: Please note that your room key will not open the external balcony doors. Guests should access their rooms through the guest wing corridor.

  • Checkout Procedure: When checking out, kindly leave your room key in the door.

  • Lost Key Policy: Guests will incur a $50 charge for any lost room keys.

Cancellation Policy (Individual Bookings) (1)

  • Free Cancellation: You may cancel your reservation free of charge up to 7 days before arrival, and your deposit will be fully refunded.

  • Late Cancellation: If you cancel up to 24 hours before arrival, you will be charged for the first night's accommodation.

  • No-Show Policy: Cancellations made within 24 hours of arrival or failure to show up (“no show”) will result in a charge for the full amount of your booking.

Highland Gathering (Brigadoon) Reservation and Cancellation Policy

  • Direct Bookings Only: Reservations for Bundanoon’s Highland Gathering (Brigadoon) must be made directly with the Lodge by calling 0409 233 999. Bookings made through online travel agents (like Booking.com) will not be accepted.

  • Payment: Full payment is required at the time of booking, which can be made via funds transfer or credit card. Please note that a 1.7% transaction fee applies to credit card payments.

  • Cancellation Policy:

    • More than 30 Days Before Arrival: Guests will receive a full refund if cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date.

    • 7 to 30 Days Before Arrival: One night's accommodation will be refunded if cancellation is made between 7 and 30 days before the arrival date.

    • Less than 7 Days Before Arrival: No refund will be provided for cancellations made less than 7 days before the arrival date.

Group and Whole House Bookings Cancellation Policy

  • A full refund of the deposit will be issued if a Whole House Booking is cancelled up to 30 days prior to arrival date.

  • The deposit of one night’s accommodation will be retained if the Group Booking is cancelled 30 - 7 days prior to arrival date.

  • The full amount will be charged if the reservation is cancelled up to 7 days from arrival date.

Early Check-In Policy

  • Requesting Early Check-In: Guests occasionally request to check in before 2:00 PM, typically when attending a wedding or other events. If you would like to inquire about an early check-in, please text Ruth at 0409 233 999 the evening before your arrival.

  • Luggage and Facilities: If an early check-in is not available, guests are welcome to leave their luggage at the Lodge and utilize the public bathroom to freshen up.

Early Check-Out Policy

  • Notification for Early Check-Out: If you wish to leave the Lodge before 8:00 AM, please inform Ruth by 7:00 PM the evening prior. This will allow her time to arrange a continental breakfast for you. If you DO NOT WANT BREAKFAST please let her know the evening prior so she doesn’t prepare food or wait for you.

Late Check In Policy

If you intend to check-in after 10:00pm please advise Ruth by text on 0409 233 999.

Late Check Out

Check-out is 10:00 am. However, should you wish to stay a little longer please ask about a later departure time. Guests departing after 12 noon will be charged a $50 late checkout fee.

Lost Property

Guests often leave items such as phone charges, ipads, books, clothes hats shoes and socks behind in their rooms after check-out.

For items to be returned, guests are required to send an appropriately sized and stamped post pack to Bundanoon Lodge 10a Elmswood Court Bundanoon NSW 2578. The item will be placed in the post pack and dropped into the post office letterbox.

Breakfast

  • Serving Time: Breakfast is served every morning in the dining room from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

  • Breakfast Options: Enjoy a selection that includes:

    • Cereals

    • Premium muesli

    • Fresh and poached seasonal fruits

    • Natural yogurt

    • A full cooked breakfast featuring eggs (poached, scrambled, or fried), bacon, and tomato.

  • Continental Breakfast: An earlier continental breakfast can be arranged upon request. Please inform Ruth before 7:00 PM the evening prior.

  • Cost: Breakfast is $25 per person and is included in your room rate unless otherwise specified.

  • Friends Joining: Friends are welcome to join you for breakfast, but please book in advance.

  • Cancellation: If you do not require breakfast, please let Ruth know to avoid preparing extra food or waiting for you.

Evening Meal Options

  • Dining in Bundanoon: While Bundanoon is a small village, it offers several dining options for your evening meal.

  • Finding Restaurants: For the most current list of restaurants and coffee shops, it’s best to Google “restaurants Bundanoon” to explore the latest offerings, as opening hours may change.

Internet and Wi-Fi Access

  • NBN Connectivity: Bundanoon Lodge is connected to the NBN network.

  • Complimentary Access: Internet access is complimentary for all guests.

  • Wi-Fi Availability: Wi-Fi is available in all bedrooms and public areas of the property.

  • Wi-Fi Password: The Wi-Fi password is molly111.

Mobile Phone Connection

  • Best Coverage: Telstra offers the best mobile connection in Bundanoon.

  • Using Wi-Fi Calling: If your provider is Telstra, you can select the Telstra Wi-Fi Phone Calls option on your mobile around the Lodge, as it utilizes the NBN network.

Audio and Television

  • Guest Room Amenities: All guest rooms are equipped with a Smart TV. Some rooms also feature a DVD and CD player.

  • Entertainment Options:

    • All TVs provide access to music channels and Netflix. Please note that Netflix is only available using your own subscription.

    • A large Smart TV is also available in the Guest Lounge, with Netflix accessible through the Lodge’s subscription.

  • DVDs and CDs: Feel free to help yourself to a selection of DVDs located in the Guest Lounge and CDs available in the guest dining area.

Tea and Coffee

  • Self-Service: If you would like coffee or tea while using the common areas of the Lodge, please help yourself to the facilities in the guest dining area.

  • Beverage Options:

    • Tea: English Breakfast tea and a variety of herbal teas are available.

    • Coffee: Hot chocolate and instant coffee are also provided.

  • Snacks: Biscuits are available for your enjoyment.

  • Milk: Milk can be found in the guest fridge.

Smoking Policy

  • Non-Smoking Building: Bundanoon Lodge is a non-smoking building.

  • Designated Smoking Areas: If you wish to smoke, please do so outside. There are designated ashtrays located:

    • On the table on the back deck beside the BBQ

    • Under the porte-cochère near the entry

  • Verandah Restrictions: Please do not smoke on the verandah outside your room, as smoke can curl back into other rooms and affect other guests.

Room Servicing, Laundry and Ironing

  • Room Servicing: Rooms are not serviced daily but guests may request clean towels, toiletry items or coffee/tea refills when required.

    • Towels: Changed upon request.

    • Bed Linen: Changed every third day.

    • Garbage: On request

    • Additional toiletries: On request

  • Laundry Facilities: Guests staying three days or longer are welcome to use the Lodge washing machine for one load of washing. Wet clothes must be hung on the line.

  • Ironing: If you need to use the washing machine or the iron (located in the Lodge office), please ask Ruth for assistance.

Reading Material

There is a large selection of magazines and newspapers in the breakfast area.  You may take any of these to your room if you wish.  There is also a variety of books for you to enjoy in the Library. If you haven’t finished your paperback book from the library by the time you leave the Lodge, please take it with you.

Heating, Air-conditioning and HRV Ventilation

During the winter months the Lodge is heated by gas central heating and rooms can be ‘topped up’ with extra heat by turning on the reverse cycle air-conditioner in your room.

The Japanese, Swedish, NZ and Australiana Room are fitted with an HRV Core Ventilation Unit. Fresh, filtered air is brought in and old air is removed. You will see the circular unit on the ceiling. The HRV air system is set and cannot be changed from your room.  If you are bothered by the sound of the air flow please ask Ruth to turn it off.

Please DO NOT climb on a chair and wind up the unit as this will compromise the motor.

All guest rooms are air-conditioned. The instruction booklet for your unit is in a drawer in your room.

BBQ

Guests are welcome to use the gas BBQ which is just outside the guest dining area on the west deck. There is no charge to use the BBQ provided it is cleaned after use. A $50 cleaning fee will be charged if the BBQ is not cleaned.

Walks

For those who would like to indulge in some exercise there are fabulous walking and running areas all around Bundanoon.  Firstly try the Jordan’s Crossing walk which is just across Elmsmore Road (2 mins). It takes you across the playing fields through the bush and around the Bundanoon Oval (20 mins).  For walks further afield you can’t get better than Morton National Park (5 min drive). There is a map on the wall next to the kitchen. Feel free to photograph the map so you have it with you.
